Factory for the manufacture of wind turbine blades

LM Wind Power moved to Cherbourg-en-Cotentin to build its latest wind turbine blade manufacturing plant.

Major player in construction for wind energy companies, LM Wind builds its 15th plant, the largest of all.

This plant will make it possible to build blades of more than 88m long, the longest in the world, to respond to the development of a set of offshore wind farms in Normandy.  Offshore wind turbines are installed offshore and operate in the same way as onshore wind turbines.

It was on a general contracting basis that the Ramery Group won this tender during the month of February 2017.  These factory construction works are therefore according to the measurement of the dimensions of the future blades.  2,000m² for the storage warehouse, 1,000 m² for administrative buildings and 22,650 m² for the production plant.
